Our graduate programs in English education provide advanced academic and professional training in the field of English language teaching and learning. The programs offer a comprehensive curriculum covering a wide range of areas, including second language acquisition, curriculum development, language assessment, instructional methods, and applied linguistics.
The Department of English Education offers two distinct graduate pathways. The English Education Major in the Graduate School of Education is designed primarily for those seeking advanced professional expertise in English teaching and teacher development. The English Education Major in the Graduate School places greater emphasis on research training and academic inquiry in English education.
The Graduate School of Education program [1] is suitable for students who wish to strengthen their expertise in teaching English as a second or foreign language and develop advanced skills in curriculum design, instructional methods, and language assessment. The general graduate program [2], on the other hand, provides students with opportunities to engage deeply with current theories, research, and practices in English language education. Both programs offer rigorous and enriching educational experiences and prepare students for professional careers in English education.
By completing one of these graduate programs, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional perspectives needed to pursue careers as English language teachers, teacher educators, or researchers, or to further enhance their current professional practice in the field of English language education.
