Gyeongnam’s national flagship university representing Korea
The School was established in March 1980 to provide 19 teacher-training courses and 10 re-education courses, 29 in all. Of the 29, 22 are classified as education- related and 7 are are in the Non-Teacher Department ( Chinese Literature, Agriculture, Electricity, Electronics, Communication, Computer, AI Convergence, Nutrition, Chinese Language Education). Together with the College of Education, the School established the educational philosophy of “a pioneer in education with a sense of calling” and endeavors to cultivate students to be “educators with a sense of duty,”“educators of expertise,” and “educators with Creativity.”
The students are trained to acquire secondary school level 2 teacher qualification, nutrition teacher level 2 qualification, Korean language teacher level 2 qualification, and lifelong educator qualification. In preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the School fosters professional personnel who will contribute to school education and class innovation. An AI convergence education major is provided for incumbent elementary and secondary school teachers in collaboration with the Gyeongsangnam-do Province Office of Education. Training courses focusing on the re-education of current teachers will be introduced soon.
It transfers the latest trends in education philosophy and the research outcomes helpful for educational judgment to provide guidance to teachers involved in daily school education from its education goals to evaluation by providing opportunities for application to the field of education. Its eventual goal is to improve their qualifications as experts in education philosophy with professional zeal in both theory and practice.
It transfers the latest academic trends and knowledge related to overall education administration to teachers in the educational field by providing them with experiences to explore field application methods in improving their qualifications as education administration experts.
The psychological aspects of educational practice are studied in depth through psychological principles and methods to enhance psychological and scientific skills in order to contribute to the improvement and efficiency of education practice, thus enhancing the qualifications of educational psychology experts.
Educational school practices are understood from various socio-cultural perspectives, and the educational reality of South Korea is understood from a balanced perspective to foster educational sociology experts who can play positive and creative roles required in the changing field.

Gyeongsang National University’s Graduate School of English Education program is a master's degree program to nurture English education specialists and reeducate in-service English teachers. Through the course work, pre-service and in-service teachers will have numerous opportunities to learn second language acquisition theories, practice teaching skills, and improve their English language ability.

It fosters the experts of food nutrition with convergence and fusion knowledge in a global standard having creative expertise, who can contribute to improving the people’s health and welfare. The graduates work at industries, hospital, school, public clinic or social welfare facilities as a nutrition teacher, clinical nutritionist, feeding service and management nutritionist, health nutritionist, counseling nutritionist or other nutrition related specialist.
The students acquire basic knowledge and function about using the computer and its application to be an expert of computer education for the people to make efficient use of the computer.
It deals with the teaching method for the students to enhance their creative and critical thinking and the ability to solve the issues, learning the gifted education as a whole. Teacher’s role in the gifted education and the expertise of a teacher in the area is studied.
It aims at fostering the experts of teaching Korean language to the foreigners for them to understand the education of Korean language correctly to make contribution to globalization of Korean language.
It teaches overall knowledge about language, culture, history and thought of China to foster the students who will be engaged in teaching Chinese language at middle or high school. In addition, another educational goal of the department is to re-educate the current Chinese language teachers.
The students acquire professional knowledge about the early childhood education to promote holistic growth and development of the infants and they will be a creative infant education expert through the curricula that are designed to enhance their teaching ability on the spot.
In order to foster the experts who contribute to developing school education and innovation of class in preparation for fourth industrial revolution, the department provides the major in the AI convergence education for the current teachers of elementary and secondary school, under the agreement with the Office of Education of Gyeongsangnam-do Province and the Office subsidizes 50% of the school fees.
