The Department was established to foster secondary school teachers in history. It offers its curricula for teachers to have broad knowledge about Korean and world history required for them along with history teaching skills. With the use of diversified historical materials as well as in-depth learning on the history of times, the ability to understand them properly is enhanced. The curricula of the Department are provided for pre-service teachers to have sufficient knowledge on the offered subjects. Based on the above, mock classes are conducted by applying various teaching methods that reflect the changing school scenes. In addition, students go on field trips to important historical sites and places where relics are displayed across the country. The Department operates various programs to improve pre-service teachers’ qualifications, including class demonstration contests.
