The Department of Mathematics Education, established in 1970 to train secondary mathematics teachers, has been striving to maintain a good tradition. Many graduates are working in secondary schools across the country, mainly in Gyeongsangnamdo; in addition, they are faithfully fulfilling their responsibilities in various education-related professions.
In the rapidly changing international situation, it is believed that the foundation of national competitiveness comes from the people's mathematical ability; in order to keep up this demands, six professors are doing their best to operate and research curriculum to nurture more competent teachers.
Through the acquisition of major knowledge in various fields of mathematics, students are instructed to hone their logical analysis and development skills, creative thinking and application skills, and comprehensive judgment. Also, all students (pre-service teachers) learn how to construct their own mathematical patterns and focus on the problem-solving process itself based on pedagogy.
