The College of Nursing at Gyeongsang National University, A foundation for fostering nursing talents who pioneer the future of nursing
Welcome!
The College of Nursing at Gyeongsang National University has been a cornerstone of public healthcare education in Gyeongnam since 1926, playing a key role in the early development of modern nursing education in Korea. As we approach our centennial anniversary, we take pride in our rich heritage, which includes producing three recipients of the Florence Nightingale Medal, the highest honor in the nursing profession, underscoring our legacy of excellence in nursing education.
Guided by our vision of 'WISE (Worldwide, Initiative, Scientific, Empathetic) Nursing,' which is deeply rooted in respect for humanity, we are committed to nurturing highly skilled nurses equipped with the core competencies necessary for optimizing health and well-being. Our goal is to foster future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to public health both in Korea and globally.
Our comprehensive academic programs include bachelor's, master's, integrated master’s-doctoral, and doctoral degree tracks. Our graduates are making a positive impact across a wide range of nursing fields, serving as proficient nurses, nursing directors, health educators, public healthcare officials, nursing faculty, and researchers. These achievements reflect the competitive strength of our college.
We have received consecutive 5-year accreditations in 2006, 2015, and 2020 for excellence in nursing education. Since 2019, we have been leading the GISEP project, which focuses on community service through health and education initiatives for the elderly. In 2021, we were selected for a 5-year nursing simulation education support project by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, which enabled us to establish a state-of-the-art simulation center to enhance our students' practical skills. Furthermore, we offer a range of unique programs, including a leadership development program for all undergraduate students and a global talent exchange program with Texas Woman’s University, helping our students grow into nursing leaders who excel both domestically and internationally.
As we navigate challenges such as a declining school-age population, an increasing elderly population, the rapid evolution of healthcare through AI, and heightened competition among universities, we remain confident. The 2021 merger of Gyeongsang National University and Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology, along with our university’s Glocal project, has positioned us to further strengthen our standing as the premier nursing college in Gyeongnam’s national flagship university.
With our enduring history, strong academic foundation, and leadership, we remain committed to advancing the field of nursing and pursuing excellence in education. We are determined to become a global leader in nursing education, and we invite you to join us on this journey toward a brighter future.
