Graduate School Regulations

8. Advisor
8-1. Students shall select one advisor from among professors, associate professors, or assistant professors with doctoral degrees in the relevant faculty (department) within 90 days from the date of admission. However, if necessary, two co-advisors may be appointed with the approval of the Dean of the Graduate School.


13. Course Registration
13-1. Students shall apply for courses within the course registration period for each semester only for open courses and under the guidance of the dean or head of the department and the advisor.
13-2. Students may not apply for more than 10 credits (excluding credits for prerequisite courses) each semester. (Revised 2018. 2. 21.)
13-3. If a student wishes to repeat a course, he/she may repeat the course or the entire course, and the grade already obtained shall be invalidated. (New 2006. 12. 5)


14. Correction of Course Registration
Cancellation or correction of course registration must be made before one-fourth of the class days of each semester.


Credits and Completion

18. Course Credits
The minimum number of credits required for completion of each graduate course is as follows.


18-1. Credits required for completion of master's course: 24 credits or more (Revised 2018. 2. 21.)

l   Seminar: 3 credits

l   Faculty (department) common: 3 credits or more (excluding seminars)

l   Major:9 credits or more

l   Secondary science credits for seminar courses shall not be included in the number of credits required for completion. (Revised 2018. 2. 21.)


19. Reduced Course Length
Permission to shorten the number of semester days under the Academic Regulations shall be granted by the President after deliberation by the Graduate Council upon recommendation of the advisor and the head of the department or division. (Revised 25 May 2007)

19-1.  A person who has earned completion credits for each course and has a grade of 4.3 or higher in all subjects may complete the master's program within one semester and the integrated master's program within two semesters (one year).
19-2. If a student does not complete the course due to personal circumstances, he/she must register for at least one credit in the next semester.


27. (Exemption from Foreign Language Examination)

  1. 03 Foreign students shall be exempted from the foreign language examination and complete the Korean language course set by the graduate school. However, if you pass the accredited Korean language proficiency test or obtain a score higher than a certain standard, you may be exempted, and the standards are separately determined by the president..
