Pharmaceutics is a field of study that aims for the most desirable application of pharmaceuticals used for purposes such as diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases in humans and animals, with the goal of more effective and safe utilization. Pharmaceutics is evolving in various ways, focusing on topics such as the quality, performance, efficacy, and safety of pharmaceuticals, theories and technologies for creating excellent formulations, properties and efficacy of formulations, selection and application methods of dosage forms, and pharmacokinetics after administration.
In our Industrial Pharmaceutical Science Lab, we conduct formulation research using various drug delivery systems, such as research on the solubilization of poorly soluble drugs using solid dispersions, SMEDDS(Self-Microemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems), gelatin microcapsules, encapsulated complex, and electro spray drying systems, formulation research for orally disintegrating tablets, extended-release tablet, pulsatile dosage formulation, dry powder inhaler formulation, nasal spray formulation, and skin delivery. Undergraduate and graduate students can understand the theory and practical skills associated with various formulations and gain experience through all stages of formulation research and development. Collaborative research with various pharmaceutical companies is underway. Practical on-site training needed by pharmaceutical companies is conducted, and based on this, our graduates are getting jobs at various pharmaceutical companies.
