Greetings to prospective students!

The Department of Convergence Medical Science is a graduate program, composed of basic and clinical professors belonging to the College of Medicine, Gyeongsang National Univerisity. This program provides graduate students with opportunity to develop their own research careers in the field of Bio-Medical Sciences. We have Master, PhD and the combination program of Master-PhD to train and educate students who will have logical thinking and excellent research capabilities in the convergence medicine field.

Our department has been conducting a BK21FOUR program (Bio-Health) since 2020 after the successful completion of BK21Plus program (“Bio-anti-aging). Based on these experiences, we currently are one of best programs among Bio-Medical Sciences in the Gyeongnam region, South Korea and are nurturing excellent researchers leading the bio-health industry.

In the meantime, thirty professors work together within the department, and about 40 full-time graduate students are studying. Our department also runs some convergence education programs in which company associates and foreign researchers participate together, leveraging to international competitiveness in the field.

Admission and scholarship benefits

Any students who have the bachelor degree in the biology/biotechnology/chemistry/ pharmacology/medicine fields can apply to the program. Full-time students in the program are provided by the sufficient financial support including full-time scholarships from Gyeongsang National University, BK21 program or supervisor’s personal grants. The financial supports can strengthen depending on student’s academic and research performances. We also support students to participate the domestic and international academic conferences, or have a chance for a short-term training in domestic/overseas outstanding research institutions.
