Chemical engineering department has been made a significant contribution to cultivate engineers for refineries, petrochemicals, organic/inorganic chemicals, fine chemicals and polymer industries.
Issues on the need of interdisciplinary engineers on bio- and nano technology have forced to extend the field of chemical engineering.
The chemical engineers can integrate engineering with science and thus our department curriculum covers field of "life science" and "nanoscience" as well as chemical engineering.The department was established in 1987 and has 7 full-time faculty members, 200 undergraduate students or more, and also offers graduate program leading to the degree of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy.
The departmental mission is to nurture qualified chemical engineers with practical knowledge of chemical science, life science, and nano science. The department offers undergraduate programs that include the education in the many core subjects such as applied biology, nano technology, biochemical engineering, unit operation, chemical reaction engineering, chemical engineering thermodynamics, mathematical methods for chemical engineering, etc.
