Targeting 64% of the forest resources in the country, the Division of Environmental Forest Science studies forest resource plants and forest bioresource
development and breeding, afforestation and ecology, forest disease and pest control, forest environment protection and forest environment conservati
on for preventing sediment runoff and mountain disasters, forest recreation and urban forestry, landscape planning and design, production and manag
ement of forest resources, development and use of mountain areas, and solutions to environmental and water quality problems. In particular, we
are conducting basic and industrialization research and education to solve domestic and international issues such as biodiversity, the Nagoya Protocol,
climate change, carbon neutrality, and the realization of the bio economy. Community and social education is also carried out in parallel. In addition to
these existing studies, we are also striving for future convergence education suitable for the 4th industrial revolution such as AI, IoT and big data. The
Division of Environment and Forest Science (Major in Forest Environmental Resources) is the only forest-related department in the densely populated
southern regions of Korea, and is in charge of nurturing future forest talents equipped with both forestry theory and practical skills. In addition, our
department operates its graduate school (Master's and Ph.D degree).
