Welcome to the Department of AI Information Engineering at Gyeongsang National University
In the era of the '4th Industrial Revolution', various digital technologies such as DNA (Data, Network, AI) are developing at a rapid pace based on IT technology. Additionally, as technologies advance, efforts are being made to hire professional engineers who have learned major knowledge related to the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’ in various industries such as finance, medicine, architecture, and automobiles.
In line with the establishment of IT Engineering College at Gyeongsang National University in 2024, the Department of AI Information Engineering was newly established to foster creative and convergent engineers who will lead the ‘Fourth Industry’ in line with these changes in the industry.
Our Department participated in the educational capacity building project designated by the Ministry of Education and strengthened education by expanding educational infrastructure. Currently, we are making every effort to participate in the socially customized Leading Industry-Academia Cooperation University Development Project (LINC+) so that students in the department can enjoy various benefits such as field trip programs to domestic and foreign IT-related companies/universities and overseas language training.
Today, we are experiencing a revolutionary change called the 4th Industrial Revolution with the advent of the Internet of Things, where all things are connected to a network, big data that processes vast amounts of accumulated data, and artificial intelligence devices with human-level intelligence through deep learning. At the center of these changes are software, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and communication network technologies. Accordingly, in order to prepare for the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, this department is teaching the necessary professional knowledge by developing an integrated curriculum that combines software, computers, artificial intelligence, big data, and communication networks.
In addition, we are doing our best to cultivate creative, cutting-edge ICT human resources with practical skills and international sensibility through industry-academia programs linked with domestic and foreign ICT companies.
In the future, all professors in the Department of AI Information Engineering will work together with students, graduates, faculty, and other members to make efforts for the continued development of the department.
