The department in which two academic fields, Maritime Police and Marine Production System, are coexist.
It aims at fostering students of expertise who can establish a sustainable marine production system, such as the production and use of marine living resources and systematic fishery management.
Training professionals with special knowledge of the maritime sovereignty protection, maritime safety and security, marine traffic, and marine pollution prevention and control are the other primary purpose of the department. To this end, the department teaches specialized knowledge on various maritime and fishery-related laws, ship operation and navigation, marine ecosystem, and fish resources, and provides opportunities to directly experience and acquire academic knowledge using an eco-friendly training ship(SAE-BA-DA). Upon graduation, students can enter various fields such as maritime police (Korea Coast Guard), maritime and fisheries officials (central and local governments), ship’s personnel, and maritime and fisheries related research institutes.
