The Department investigates diversified availability and functionality of aquatic biological resources, develops high-functional food processing technology using advanced techniques, creates new products, promotes the standardization and industrialization of traditional aquatic products, along with developing and using high value-added pharmaceuticals and new biomaterials through a search for biologically active natural substances.
In this regard, the Department aims at fostering competent human resources who can develop studies on using fishery products in relevant industries and further make contributions to solving future food problems and promoting human health and welfare.
