A Prestigious Hub for Industry-Academia Collaboation, SMART GNU Welcome to Website of the College of Engineering, Gyeongsang National University | The College of Engineering has played a crucial role in the development of the regional industry through the training of competitive talent and active industry-academia collaboration over the past 40 years. In 1977, the Department of Architectural Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering were established within the College of Engineering at Gyeongsang National University. In 1981, the college officially began with three departments: Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Ceramic Engineering. Since then, through industry-focused education and specialized advanced training programs, the college has cultivated highly skilled professionals who are recognized in the industry, academia, and research institutes. Moreover, the college's outstanding research team has achieved numerous remarkable research accomplishments, gaining global recognition through their dedicated efforts. Currently, the College of Engineering at Gyeongsang National University, the largest college at the university, boasts 115 faculty members and over 4,500 talented undergraduate and graduate students. The college is now committed to focusing on education and research in advanced convergence technology fields to align with the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To achieve this, the college will focus on practical education through active communication between professors and students, industry-specific research through collaboration among faculty from different disciplines, industry-academia-research joint education and research with industries in Jinju Innovation City and the Gyeongnam area, and international exchange with key universities in the U.S. and China. The college aims to evolve into a leading force in the field of engineering, driving the present era forward. Both engineering education and research are driven by people, and all of it contributes to helping people live fulfilling lives. In exploring and sharing engineering knowledge, we will always foster the important humanistic values of care and consideration.
