Rational urban planning and management require not only engineering perspectives, such as architecture and civil engineering, but also comprehensive and systematic approaches considering political, economic, social, cultural, artistic, and psychological aspects. In the field of urban engineering, students acquire foundational knowledge in each domain required for devising solutions to imminent urban problems and for enhancing the quality of urban societies. They also learn techniques to integrate and apply this knowledge.
