Considering that the main industry of Gyeongsangnam-do is the machinery industry, and the Jinju-Sacheon area is the center of South Korea's aviation industry, it can be said that the stature of our department within Gyeongsang National University is very high. Our department plays a central role in the Aerospace Component Technology Research Center supported by the Korea Science Foundation established in 1996 and the aviation engineering specialization project supported by the Ministry of Education that began in 1997. Moreover, in the "Brain Korea 21" project, Gyeongsang National University chose the transport machinery industry sector, focusing on our department.
Despite its short history, the development of our department has been possible due to geographical conditions, the university's supportive intentions, and the considerable efforts of both faculty and students. The relatively young faculty is passionate about education and research, and students have studied diligently under their guidance. As a result, the professors have amassed numerous research achievements, and after graduation, students exhibit a high employment rate. They have entered various fields, actively contributing as leading figures in our society.
