The Green Energy Convergence Research Institute is dedicated to contributing to the future of the green energy industry through the development of green energy convergence technologies. The institute is doing its utmost to pave the way for advancements that will play a significant role in the growth and enhancement of eco-friendly energy solutions for the future

In the Southeastern metropolitan economic region, including Gyeongsangnam-do, heavy industries such as shipbuilding, aviation, and machinery are well-developed. The research institute aims to lead the green energy industry, including wind power, solar energy, smart grids, secondary batteries, and bio-energy, as a new growth engine in connection with these main industries. The institute is comprised of experts from various fields including engineering, natural science, agriculture, and marine science, who are devoted to contributing to the future green energy industry by consolidating their research capabilities for the development of green energy convergence technologies

Main Tasks

  •  Research on Core Technology for Wind Energy:

    • Conducting key technological research to nurture wind energy as a future growth engine industry.
    • Focus on optimizing the design, manufacturing process, and maintenance of wind turbines to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.
  •  Future-Oriented Basic and Applied Research for Efficient Utilization of Solar Energy:

    • Carrying out forward-looking basic research and applied research for the industrial use of solar energy.
    • Improving the efficiency and application of solar energy technologies.
  •  Research on Core Technology for Smart Grid through Integration of Various Green Energy  Technologies:

    • Integrating diverse green energy technologies to conduct essential research on intelligent power grid technology.
    • Aiming to enhance the integration and operation of renewable energy in the power grid.
  •  Development of Raw Materials for Bio-Energy and Related Core Technological Research:

    • Developing crops for bio-energy and conducting necessary core technological research.
    • Enhancing the utilization of bio-energy through the development and research on essential technologies.
  •  Research on Material Development for Next-Generation Secondary Batteries:

    • Researching to develop high-capacity and high-safety materials for next-generation secondary batteries.
