The Aerospace Components Technology Research Institute focuses predominantly on basic and applied research concerning the design, materials, and production of aircraft components. As a regional collaborative research institute, it performs applied research on the design, analysis, production, and testing evaluation of aircraft components, devices, and structures.
The ultimate goal of the institute is to lead the advancement of the aircraft components industry and contribute to regional development and the enhancement of international competitiveness through regional collaborative research. To achieve these objectives, it is conducting (1) research support projects, (2) industry-academic joint research and technology guidance, and (3) student field training and hosting academic conferences.
The main research areas of the institute involve various fields related to aircraft components. Through workshops, technology transfer of research results, and technical guidance, the institute aids regional development, enhances the international competitiveness of industries, and supports local industries in preparation for localization.
Located in the Jinju-Sacheon region, where an advanced aerospace industrial complex is established, various aircraft development and production projects are underway, leading to an increase in related cooperative companies. The institute has a mutual cooperation agreement with Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd., operating a cooperative master's program and actively conducting technology transfer businesses with related cooperative companies. This collaboration contributes to the domestic aerospace industry and regional economy, and the institute is continuously striving for development
