The Defense Industry Technology Convergence Research Institute was established in March 1996 as the Research Center for Aircraft Parts Technology(ReCAPT).
Its mission is to lead the defense industry through fundamental and applied research in defense-related compenets and convergence technologies, contributing to enhanced competitiveness of the related industrial ecosystem by fostering technological innovation and supplying exceptional human resources.
Currently, the institute is organized into five specialized research centers based on their respective research Fields:
1. Materials and Components Center
2. Design And Analysis Center
3. Electronics and Control Center
4. AI and Software Center
5. Special Projects Center
Through diverse research projects and support activities, the institute aims to become a regional hub for collaboration, driving new demand creation based on the development of key components and convergence technologies in the defense industry. Additionally, it aims to lead the supply chain and technology independence in Gyongnam's primary industrail sectors.
