Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering is a field of study that researches the production, supply, and application of electrical energy.

In October 1984, the department started as the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and was separated into the Department of Electrical Engineering in November 1985. Master's and Doctoral programs were subsequently established in 1988 and 1993, respectively.

Electrical engineering is a discipline that researches the production, supply, and application of electrical energy. Based on the fundamental concepts of electrical engineering, this department offers courses in three major areas: system engineering, electrical devices, and electrical materials. The main subjects are divided into system engineering (such as automatic control and power systems), electrical devices (such as electrical apparatus and power electronics), and electrical materials (such as electrical materials and renewable energy engineering).

The department is conducting an engineering education accreditation program, and in addition to the major, it emphasizes the cultivation of students' communication skills, ethical professional views, and leadership through management theory education. Students of this department not only receive scholarships from the university but also from various external sources such as Korea Electric Power Corporation and Electrical Construction Mutual Aid Association.
