The English language course as a liberal arts subject

• English for University Students 2
  • A 2-credit subject in the 'Competence Liberal Arts' category; native English foreign instructors conduct teaching by using English only.
  • 1 session per week is arranged for 15 weeks (2 hours per session, 30 hours in total)
  • Attendee capacity per class: approximately 23 students.
• English-Zone English
  • A 4-credit subject in the 'Competence Liberal Arts' category; also an alternative subject for University Students 1 & 2
  • Foreign instructors from English-speaking countries conduct teaching by using English only.
  • 4 sessions per week (Monday to Thursday/ PM 6:30 - PM 8:20/ 2 hours per session); 15 weeks, 120 hours in total
  • Attendee capacity per class: approximately 10 students.

Non-credited foreign language courses

• Various language programs, which cover English (TOEIC, TOEIC Speaking, English conversation with natives) and more foreign languages (Chinese, Japanese, French, German, etc.), are opened 6 times a year.

GNU English Camp

• This English experience program provides elementary schoolers (4th grade or upper) and middle schoolers with opportunities of exposure to English through the well-organized course by phase, without going abroad. By learning the daily uses of English conversation in 4 sections, the participants raise up their English speaking skills and sense of achievement.

Korean language training

• This Korean language/culture program has been designed for foreigners and Koreans who are not familiar with the Korean language due to living in other countries. Anyone who has an educational background of high school or higher can apply.

Period

※ Class capacity: 15 students per class on average (Classes with insufficient applicants may be canceled.)

Tuition fee

• Tuition fee: KRW 1,200,000 per semester
• First payment: KRW 4,800,000 (tuition fee for 1 year)
  ※ Payment of 1-year tuition fee is applied to those who have D-4 Visa (Korean Language Program Visa).

Language tests

• Trial exam of TOEIC (online/offline)
  Trial exams are provided in the form of physical and online exams regularly to let the applicants have opportunities of practice before taking the actual TOEIC.
• Operation of the TOEFL iBT center
  As designated as an examination site for TOEFL iBT in October 2007, the Language Institute provides convenience of accessibility to whoever takes the TOEFL in the Gyeongnam region.
• Operation of TOEIC Speaking center
  As an examination site for TOEIC Speaking, the Language Institute provides convenience of accessibility to whoever aims jobs from large enterprises or public institutes in the Gyeongnam region.
• Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)
  The Language Institute provides convenience for foreigners who take the TOPIK, hosted by the National Institute for International Education.
