Gyeongnam-Jinju INNOPOLIS comprises of 2 units of R&D Convergence Zone and one unit of Technology Commercialization Zone: the former is Gyeongnam National Aviation Industrial Complex that has outstanding R&D certification institutes and material & manufacture industry on the largest scale in Korea including Jinju Innovative City Cluster, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Jinju Root Industry Complex, etc. The latter helps start-up foundations with technologies and business spaces provided by Startup Incubation Center in GNU and GNU Holdings.

Gyeongnam-Jinju INNOPOLIS aims to raise up the core industry that becomes the engine of national economic growth in the future, through development of essential components and lighter materials in the aerospace industry.

Since aerospace components and materials is its target area, Gyeongnam-Jinju INNOPOLIS builds a system to find commercialization-promising technologies in whole aircraft production. In order to achieve that, Gyeongnam-Jinju INNOPOLIS has designed the technology-finding process in consideration of technology convergence between aerospace materials/components and related sectors, and also has simplified the administrative procedures to decrease the processing time.
