Museum

The GNU Museum, opened in 1984, has been identifying its position as the Gyeongnam region's representative museum. It conducts research on prehistoric and ancient culture in the western Gyeongnam area and also exhibits relevant relics.

Sword with Ring Pommel (Treasure No. 2042) and Golden Earrings (Treasure No. 2043 and 2045) are the most well-known relics on exhibition at the museum. In addition, its exhibition covers a wide range of archaeological/historical/ethnographic items related to all the eras on the Korean Peninsula, including findings gathered from Paleolithic/Neolithic sites and artifacts from the Gaya era.

As acquiring materials at Annex Exhibition hall in Jinnong Hall, Chilam Campus, the museum is recently focusing on collecting, organizing, and preserving the diverse folk items related to agriculture and more materials from modern times.

Moreover, its various educational and cultural events are inspiring cultural awareness in the GNU members and nearby residents, and ultimately contributing to culture creation for the university and the local community.
