    GNU has 7 libraries in total (Central Library, Chilam Library, Digital Library, Medical Library, Law Library, Marine Science Library, and Ancient Literature Library) to be faithful in the role of library, which aims collection and provision of a wide range of academic information required for education and research by faculty, students, and local community members. These libraries hold1.74 million books, 88 thousands of journals, and also reach electronic materials including journals and overseas online databases to get them to the visitors.

    Particularly, thanks to enhanced infrastructure facilities and the environment built to be friendly to IT devices, it's enabled to access information from these libraries anywhere and anytime; academic information of GNU is provided in various forms such as mobile library service, wireless internet, integrated search, online IT education, and more.

  • Search coverage: All the electronic materials provided by the GNU library are searchable by article title or author name.

Guide to off-campus access to academic DBs and electronic journals

  • Access route: GNU library website → Sign in (ID: personnel ID, password: cell-phone number [default]) and then use like on-campus access (go to the specific online database through the GNU library website)

Services and programs by GNU libraries

  • Application of interlibrary loan/document delivery services (Tel: 0535)

    Free or paid services to provide non-available items at GNU libraries by requesting to other domestic university libraries or overseas institutes.

    • How to request
      • Sign up at RISS and ScienceON(formerly NDSL), acquire authorization from GNU library staff, and then request the necessary material
      • Click the menu of interlibrary lending and document delivery services to send request
  • Foreign Journal Support Center - environment/energy section (3F, Digital Library) (Tel. 0535)
  • Purchase request (Tel: 0516, 0517 / 3190 [Chilam Library])
    • In case that a necessary item is not available at GNU libraries, make a request after signing in at the library website.
    • Purchase progress of the requested material is provided, and the completed acquisition is notified to the applicant by mobile phone text message.
  • Purchase of essential books for lecture (Tel: 0516, 0517 / 3190 [Chilam Library])
    • In order to support students' learning, GNU libraries purchase and acquire textbooks and reference books stated on syllabuses every semester by priority.
  • Library tour program / library use instruction by department (Tel: 0529 / 3191 [Chilam Library])
    • Instruction program is conducted to help understanding of how to use the GNU libraries, targeting freshmen, external visitors, and departments. Content of the program is customized for each department.
  • Instruction for academic DBs (Tel: 0534 / 3197 [Chilam Library])
    • Online instruction program is conducted with invited experts in order to enable the users to efficiently utilize academic DBs accessible through the GNU libraries. Visit the library website to get the program schedule and apply.
  • Lending request for items 'in preparation of service' (Tel: 0511 / 3191 [Chilam Library])
    • In order to enable quick use of materials, it's allowed to request to lend newly acquired items, which are marked "in preparation of service," by prioritizing the registration and arrangement work for those.
  • Inter-campus lending (Tel: 0522)
    • In case of borrowing materials reserved in other campuses of GNU, sign in at the library website, find the material, and then click "캠" (CAM) icon to request bring it to your campus. It takes 2 to 5 days until the material arrives.
  • Lending extension/reservation (Tel: 0522)
    • In case the necessary item is out on loan, make a reservation at the library website (sign-in required).
    • It is allowed to register on the waiting list for once per an item; the waiting list of an item has 3 ranks.
  • E-mail/text message alert service (sign-in required) (Tel: 0522)
    • Register your E-mail address and mobile phone number at the library website to receive automatic alert messages, which includes notifications from GNU libraries as well as status of lending reservation, due date of item return, overdue return, etc.
  • Material use guidance by department (Tel: 0529 / 3192 [Chilam Library])
    • Guidance to access references each department needs and also to use materials/services at libraries
  • Missing item reports (Tel: 0526, 0528, 0530)
    • In case that an available item doesn't exist on the appointed bookshelf, report to the information desk in the library or at the library website.
  • Nammyong Studies System (Tel: 0508 [Ancient Literature Library])
    • Ancient literature materials from the Gyeongnam region, housed in the Ancient Literature Library, are digitized and accessible through the Internet.

  • Tour program for Ancient Literature Exhibition Hall (Tel: 0507 [Ancient Literature Library])
    • History and content of ancient literature from the Gyeongnam region are displayed.
